ABOUT FEDERICO CORREA
BIOGRAPHY
Federico E. Correa is a painter who lives and paints in San Miguel de Allende. Correa’s grandparents were from Zacatecas and Aguascalientes, Mexico. Born into a family of farm workers, Federico is the third of seven children. He grew up in Soledad, California, a farming community in the heart of the Salinas Valley.
After working in corporate public relations and as a technical writer in Silicon Valley, Correa pursued his passion, painting. In addition to his Bachelor of Arts degrees in Public Relations and in the Fine Arts, Correa holds a Masters of Fine Arts degree from the Mount Royal Graduate School of Painting , Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore MD. A Ford Foundation Fellow, Correa was awarded the prestigious Walters Art Museum Fellowship from the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore.

M y sketchbooks are about sentiments. They are about thoughts, feelings expressed “al momento” in visual form. Unspoiled by the cerebral, the intellectual and the real, these small images are a preoccupation of the heart.
My sketchbooks like my emotions follow me.
